I believe that people with disabilities deserve rights and respect. After hearing so many stories via social media from people with disabilities fearing for their lives under a Trump presidency, I was empowered to march alongside as well. As a person with epilepsy, I doubted that I would have the stamina to make it through the march in DC but still wanted to show my support. We are disabled, we exist, and we matter.
I am a junior at Washington College, majoring in psychology and music and minoring in ethnomusicology. I became interested in disability rights and activism after taking a class in disability history.
