I am submitting this on behalf of my sister, who suffered a traumatic accident and is in the hospital. She would have marched had she been able, so I am adding her to this amazing group of individuals.
On January 4th of this year, my sister Tatiana was in a terrible car accident on an icy road in Oregon. Since that night she has been in the hospital in very serious condition. She continues to improve a bit each day, but the road to recovery will be long and arduous. Still, she is a fighter and one of the most resilient people I know. She has always been passionate about equality and social justice and would have ABSOLUTELY taken part in a peaceful march and demonstration of solidarity. While she is unable to communicate in a meaningful way at the moment, she will be so grateful to awaken and realize she too was part of history and made her voice heard that she will not sit idly by while bigotry and hatred are normalized.
The picture is of Tatiana, a 29 year old, white woman in glasses, in the woods with her two beloved puppies, Rocco and King.
