My name is Valerie. I am becoming a part of this march because I do not want to be demeaned, undermined, and mocked. Let’s remember that many people in power, both in the past and now, have demeaned and undermined people with disabilities. The point of this march is to make ourselves known as we seem to be little thought about even though we are the largest minority. 

I have an unspecified neuromuscular disease. I use a power wheelchair and am legally blind. I have peripheral neuropathy, optic nerve atrophy, nystagmus, chronic headache/pain, chronic fatigue, restrictive lung disease, progressive muscle weakness, seizure like episodes, brain lesions… I’ve been through so much, yet I try to stay positive and stand up for the disabled community!
