Why I Am Joining The March : In memory of my brother, who had ALS and relied on his Medicaid-funded home health aides to be able to live at home, where he could write amazing music with the movement he still had in one finger, instead of moving to a nursing home.In support of my many friends who have disabilities.
In support of children whose Free and Appropriate Education in the Least Restrictive Environment is under threat; whose insurance may no longer be required to cover the therapies and interventions they need if the ACA is repealed; whose care may be slashed if Medicaid funding may be cut; who face bullying and discrimination under this administration.
In solidarity with millions of people with mental health conditions who could only receive treatment after the ACA.
