Why I Am Joining The March: As a Catholic woman dedicated to fully upholding the dignity of all human life, from conception to natural death, I am deeply concerned about the growing hate in this country, and elsewhere, reflected in the resent election. Having founded a nonprofit to provide for the elder, disabled and terminally ill, particularly those with limited financial means, I am very concerned about the impact this election will have on those we serve. I know that many participating in this event do not share all of my concerns (particularly recognizing the dignity of those lives still in a woman’s womb). That being said, this march appears to focus on where we can come together and to do all we can to help overcome the growing darkness of hate. As a history major, I see so many very disturbing parallels to the past – we must not remain silent.
