I am a disabled nurse. I personally witnessed the positive change that the ACA made – and still live in hope for single-payer coverage for all citizens of this country like is available in other modern nations.

I grew up in a time of optimism and hope, of a belief in the inevitable progress towards equality and justice for all people.

The idea that all human beings are deserving of justice, compassion, and dignity is not radical or new. It is the basis for every major religious movement out there. And in the very small world we inhabit, it is the only way we will survive.
