I don’t want the generation coming up now to have to fight the same fight I did just to survive. I want those who have them, to be able to have their neurodivergence, their mental illnesses, and their invisible or visible disabilities acknowledged, accepted, and accommodated. I want them not to have those differences used to invalidate their identity if they’re not cisgender or straight. I want them to be able to access services and education and medical care that either didn’t exist when I was younger, or were denied to me. And most of all, I want them to be able to gain access to all of that no matter what their race or their country of origin or religion, or whatever other reasons – overt or covert – businesses and government would find to deny them.
