Susan and Diane Amussen

A woman in her late 50s wearing a turquoise jacket, with her mother in her early 80s, wearing a purple jacket.
We’re here in support of justice for all Americans, especially Susan’s undocumented students and their families.   We’re also joining to defend what we have, and to support the continuation of medicare,  social security, and medicaid.   Diane — who has had a stroke and is leaving rehab on Saturday — would be living on the streets were it not for medicare and social security.   So this picture places her at the march too.
Diane is a long time community organizer and activist, who moved to Merced, CA to be near her daughter.  Susan is a teacher, and also helps Diane stay as independent as possible.
